Reflective Paint for Bicycles and Motorcycles

We have been experimenting with reflective glass beads sprinkled on wet paint and are getting good results. You spray either clear coat or standard spray paint on a frame, sprinkle the glass beads on and let it dry. It lights up the entire bike. On the wheels I laid the bike on its side and spun the wheel then sprayed with clear coat. Then I spun the wheel again and poured the beads on the rim. The whole job took only a few minutes and the difference in visiblity is amazing. It takes about 6 ounces of beads to do a bike. The coating of beads does not have to be heavy. Just a uniform coat.

I like the idea of using some bright reflective tape on the helmet and the frame and then putting the glass beads on the rims so that cars get a very quick idea of what you are when they first spot you on the road. Historically, the problem with motorist has been registering what they are seeing as a bicycle. By marking the helmet, frame and wheels this takes care of this problem.
